APPLICATION: This training DVD  is designed to be shown to persons who might encounter persons whose behavior indicates that he or she will not comply with lawful and appropriate directions from Security or Healthcare Staff. This person's behavior is out of control and presents a threat to the Security Officer or others.  It will present SEVEN techniques to obtain compliance in ways that are perceived by the observer as having included the minimum use of force, while at the same time being techniques which are effective and non-injurious to the person on whom they are applied.

These techniques are presented live by Wm. J. "Doc" McCarthy, their originator and a nationally respected physical response trainer.


  Included and completely presented for learning are the following techniques:

Wrist Torque Techniques

26 Control of the ankles on a gurney (cart)

27 Knee Pressure Control on the gurney

28 Keeping the patients head down on the gurney

29 Patients arm control on a gurney

30 Getting the patient to move his / her arms from beneath
the torso

31 Moving the patients arms down from their chest to
establish restraint.
