 Donald Harvey admits on this tape to killing over 85 patients. He poisoned them, stabbed one with a coat hanger through a catheter and smothered others. His fellow employees generally liked him. Security professionals need to know that people like Donald Harvey don't look like monsters. They are bright and if no one is alert to the environment they can go on killing for years. This is not a pleasant topic or tape. This is not a fantasy or a one in a million story. Hospital security and nursing managers owe it to their patients to be alert to this horrible reality.

This program contains an interview with Donald Harvey. He tells how he killed, why, and how unobservant staff let him get away with it for years. It includes an explanation of how Harvey selected his victims; the techniques and poisons he chose to kill them with; the steps he took to avoid detection; and Harvey's admission of how he might have been caught much earlier.

This videotape was produced in cooperation with the International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety and shot on location at the prison where Harvey is confined for Life.
