AWAY FROM  THE OFFICE

PERSONAL SAFETY FOR EDUCATIONAL PERSONNEL

ED701 23 Minutes

APPLICATION: This video based program serves as the core element of the training owed to all staff who leave the safety of the SCHOOL environment and go into their community to deliver EDUCATIONAL services.

Any EDUCATIONAL organization that sends its employees into the community to provide services or to bring needed commodities to its customers has a duty under the OSHA General Duty clause to provide training on topics which respond to perceived risk on the job.

Experience has sadly demonstrated that educational, social service and healthcare professionals going into the community are at risk and have even been killed trying to carry out their assignments.

This program addresses each of  the major risk areas that staff need to be prepared to confront.  Using a logical pyramid-based model of preparation, the video offers over 200 suggestions for increasing personal safety without the video ever becoming frightening.

From strategies of preparation, through use of local resources, to elevator behavior and response to dogs, the viewer is constantly given real, practical and easily implemented suggestions for increased personal safety while driving, on public transportation, a pedestrian or in the home of the student, patient or client.

Unique to this program is a pre-test that is designed to get the attention of the trainee and suggest to the learner that the training about to be given presents information that they have not been provided with before.

"Away from the Office" has been hailed by Social Service Professionals, Educators, Hospital Security, Professional Crime Prevention Officers and Home Healthcare Administrators as the "best program of its kind ever offered."
