CALMING THEM DOWN:

AGGRESSION DE-ESCALATION AND MANAGEMENT

SP605                                                 23 Minutes

APPLICATION: A specialized training program intended to give the officers the skills and techniques needed to "talk down" potentially violent people.

Twenty years of experience training Security, Law Enforcement, Psychiatric and Emergency personnel from across the US, England, Ireland and Scotland, and the input of thousands of professionals who have confronted violence on a routine basis, all went into designing the original and most practical system of confrontation and de-escalation ever offered to security professionals.

Presented by one of the original professional Aggression Management Trainers, this program takes highly sophisticated concepts and puts them into the language and world of the Security Officer. The examples offered and the structure of the course are each specifically designed for officers just like yours. The techniques and concepts presented are real and THEY WORK.

The officer is exposed to real aggression management strategies not only by the educator who "wrote the book", but by the same person as a former police officer and security professional who faced the realities of violence, threats, verbal and physical assaults in the real world.

When Dr. Moran talks about concepts like "Exit Cornering", he knows what its really like because he was the first to define it. The entire program is real. The trainer is urged to watch the tape, stop it every few minutes during training, and relate what is being said to the local situation.

"Calming Them Down" is one of those unique training programs where everything in it is real and can work in a real situation for the officers. This video teaches officers to identify and respond to the signals of violence. It offers new options and skills that the officer can really use when confronting angry people. In this video Security Officers are shown how their own responses to hostility can cause hostility to increase. They are shown how to verbally confront and subdue the angry person. Officers are shown how to prepare themselves to avoid injury by using simple stance and body language techniques. They are introduced to the ten 'DE-ESCALANTS' ©  that they must use to be successful in de-fusing anger.
