Objectives: Security Officers and Materials Management Leadership are presented basic issues and techniques associated with theft and loss prevention.

Losses due to theft, pilferage, and shrinkage cost American companies billions of dollars per year. Two of the major areas where losses occur are receiving and materials management. Whether the losses are due to employee theft, mismanagement, shipper theft or collusion between several persons, the end result is the same, critical fiscal resources are needlessly being wasted.

This is a "how to" program in which the receiving and materials management departments are examined, procedures and practices assessed and techniques given for reducing losses. Strategies for security and administration in theft management are presented. Theft techniques are shown, explained and recommendations made to respond to them.
