APPLICATION: To reinforce the importance of patrol and give officers basic techniques for conducting a successful patrol.

Patrol is first defined by showing the viewer many of the things that should not be done on patrol. The viewing officer gets a chance to see how others look at officer behavior when that behavior is not consistent with the officer's responsibilities.

PATROL WITH A PURPOSE is not a negative concept but one which emphasizes all of the positive things that a security officer can do during a normal patrol cycle.

On completion of training using this program, the officer should
be able to:

     Define the need to mentally prepare for each patrol;

    Identify and describe the risks inherent in his/her facility;

   State the role of a patrolling officer as a deterrent;

     Describe how to be "At The Right Place , At The Right Time".

Describe how an officer's five senses contribute to a successful patrol.
