COURTESY IN  THE FUNCTION OF SECURITY

Digitally Re-Mastered and Re-Issued April 2007

SP713                        18 Minutes

Application: Officers will be able to describe how to obtain compliance from people and yet be courteous at the same time.

On a regular basis the professional security officer is called upon to carry out duties that require the enforcement of rules and regulations. At the same time, the officer must also treat each person being confronted with courtesy and respect.

The officer has to walk a Tightrope as a polite authority figure.

This presentation offers examples of how rules can be courteously enforced.

The viewer is present while officers try to explain and clarify policy and security's responsibility in regard to that policy.

In the final moments of the video, additional practical confrontations are given and the officers viewing the tape have an opportunity to talk about how they would respond to the person shown and the employer's policy at issue.
