LIABILITY ISSUES FOR SECURITY

SP202                                                               19 Minutes

Objective:    To explain in clear language the generally accepted legal role,
rights and responsibilities of Security Officers.

Security officers, an extension of the employer's authority, are at
increased risk of being accused of libelous actions. Every security
officer needs to recognize the legal limitations which have been
imposed upon protection services.

The officer must also be thoroughly acquainted with the specific
policies of the employer.

They must recognize that incidents which have occurred previously at
the employer's property or incidents which have occurred at similar
businesses increase the potential for liability.

This training program presents in everyday language the legal issues
that security officers need to understand.
